Parody Song Title:

"Love Bug"

Parody Written by:

The Comedian

The Lyrics

Vrrrrooooooom, ahhhh!

You think that I don't feel love
But what I feel for you is wheel love
In my mirror, you'll see reflected
A washed, waxed, inspected

Love Bug
Clever car is he
Love Bug
Born from Walt Disney
Love Bug
Personality
Love Bug
Number 53

Started my life
On a charcoal penciled storyboard card
(storyboard card)
Walt Disney laughed, he'd never seen such a Beetle-car
He had me built and painted too
Then he made sure others knew I had a name
(ahhhh!)

This Love Bug's contemplatin'
Volkswagen's deal with Satan
First built for Hitler's hatin'
Now kids are in line an' waitin'

Love Bug
Clever car is he
Love Bug
His name is Herbie
Love Bug
Never second best
Love Bug
Different from the rest

Drive on, drive on
Just a little bit faster! (Vrrroooooomm, Herbie!)
Drive on, drive on
Just a little bit faster! (Vrrroooooomm, Herbie!)

My movies ruled
All the kids did cheer at my funny true love
(my funny true love)
I knew the way it felt to always win their love
To see Walt Disney smile at me
Always made new friends wherever he sent me
(ahhhh!)

Don't think I'm just machine parts
Don't think that I don't have a real heart
So drive me and I'll be revealing
Car Number 53's feelings

Love Bug

Love Bug

Built by magic tools

A face

A frame

Kids think is cool

(Love Bug) Oh I'll always love you (vroom, vroom-va-va-vroom, vroom-va-vroom)
Always love you (rev a little bit louder)
(Love Bug) I'll always love you (vroom, vroom-va-va-vroom, vroom-va-vroom)
I'll always love you (rev a little bit louder)
(Love Bug) I'll always love you (vroom, vroom-va-va-vroom, vroom-va-vroom)
Always love you (rev a little bit louder)
(Love Bug) You (vroom, vroom-va-va-vroom, vroom-va-vroom) You
I'll always love you (rev a little bit louder)

"Volkswagen's deal with Satan" cracked me up. 5 5 5

Adagio and Dee, thank you both very much!

Yeah, Dee, I put those two lines in there because they rhymed with the original lines' "--atin' " word-endings, and because they affirm that Volkswagen's evil & hate-filled past is GONE FOREVER, thank goodness, and has forever been replaced by the goodness and love symbolized by our Walt Disney buddy " Herbie " !

Hmmm, now that I think about it, my previous comment sounds a little too much like a gushing commercial advertisement for Volkswagen! Such was not my intent. I've never owned a VW, so I don't know if the VW company really deserves to be described by the words "goodness and love" ..... but, I sincerely hope that they've truly left their dark and sordid past behind !!

Not once in the movie do they call it by the company name. It's always "the little car". But VW did provide the filmakers with at least twenty cars to use and abuse.

Disney, Hitler, and Satan all in one song! Then again, they're all the same entity.

Very masterful command of the lyrics JD. This is no easy song to parody. Well done. Here's $5.55 for gas. This much used to fill one of these baby bad boys up.
Johnny D - August 11, 2004 - Report this comment
Thanks, Guy. Yeah, I remember when I was a kid and my Dad would stop the family car to buy $2.00 worth of gas. That would be enough until the next day or so!

I don't know the original song, but I read this one anyway, since the title of the parody caught my attention. I'm still giving you 5-5-5.
