The Lyrics

Domestic violence is a pretty ugly thing. Never been involved in any personally, but I've seen the soul-grinding harm in some people I've known, the collateral damage to family, friends and other loved ones, and the poisonous fall-out that descends upon and envelopes bystanders who happen to be too close at the wrong time. This one is a reverse of what most people think of when they hear "Domestic Violence".
When you thumbed me in my eyes
You were pissed at me; you thought that I was lyin'
Now I'm blinkin'; got bloody nose, need bandages
to wear, hope this all heals real soon
You've been giving me the 3rd degree; you're so weird you know
that you nearly killed me
This is no fun, I might lose my eye
You are crazy, cold, mean most of the time
It'd be different if I'd beaten you
But you know I did no wrong
Still thumbed me in the eye, my lady
Thumbed me in my eye
In my eye, my lady, thumbed me in my eye
In my eyes, you're crazy
Time to say good-bye-eye-eye-eye...

The next mornin', no surprise,
You came after me; you seemed intent on fighting
You'd been drinkin'; you did some coke; and then some pills
That should have made you sleep 'til noon
I called the cops to keep you from me, I had fear
because you said that you might kill me
You act so dumb; used to make me cry
I was crazy to take you back last time
You're not different, you are still a shrew
We could never get along
So now I say "good-bye, you're crazy"
Time for me to fly
Say "bye-bye"; with grace, please
Find another guy
Yeah, good-bye ; don't waste me
Please just say "good-bye-eye-eye-eye...."

Well done, Paul, very well done! Here are your 5's, and well-earned they are indeed.

You and I, together, by pseudo-cosmic-coincidence, posted the very first parodies of this CSN tune ever posted on Amiright.

Paul - by the way - I was unable to open that "wpd" document you sent to my Yahoo account...you know, the one with the project you said you're working on? Can you send it in another format?

Johnny D - thanks. Your's was great also (and so was your "Guinnevere" parody. I checked after I voted and THAT was a first-timer for "amiright" also. Breaking a lot of new ground here, JD, and that's good stuff - Yeah, I'll resend the item just pasted on the e-mail, it's not large so I really could have done that the first time.

Youch!! Good job, Paul. Looking over the list, it seems that between you and Johnny, you've got CSN sewn up for today..good one.

Adagio - Thanks. Didn't have any co-ordinated plans, it just worked out that way. Two twisted minds both born in Connecticut in the 1950's - what can I say?
