Song Parodies -> Carelessly Chopping (Would you like 'Thumb' soup?)
| Original Song Title: | "Helplessly Hoping" |
| Original Performer: | Crosby, Stills & Nash |
| Parody Song Title: | "Carelessly Chopping (Would you like 'Thumb' soup?)" |
| Parody Written by: | Paul Robinson |
A couple of week ago a lady in Canton, OH was served part of a restaurant employee's thumb in her salad (Inspiring me to pen "You Ate My Thumb" to the Rolling Stones "Under My Thumb"). Don't think for a minute that you can sidestep that possibility by going with the Soup instead.
Carelessly chopping the kitchen boy cuts off his thumb
right into the soup
Yelping in pain, sees his blood is now spurting,
He cuts loose some agonized cries
Missing a part of his finger, poor guy
Helplessly howling he runs to the front door and founders
as he waits there for a ride
Frantically freaking he's hoping that this is a bad dream
He's praying, then he sighs; he knows now that it's so
He's a dumb person
Now he's lost his thumb
Can they sew it back on?
Is it lost forever?
Damn, this is scary and now he's not certain
a surgeon can put back what he's lost
Thumb - he's not finding; it flew in the soup, soon a lady
will find what he has lost; she'll barf it in the bowl
She is now cursing
And then she will sue
She'll want several million
Will insurance cover?
right into the soup
Yelping in pain, sees his blood is now spurting,
He cuts loose some agonized cries
Missing a part of his finger, poor guy
Helplessly howling he runs to the front door and founders
as he waits there for a ride
Frantically freaking he's hoping that this is a bad dream
He's praying, then he sighs; he knows now that it's so
He's a dumb person
Now he's lost his thumb
Can they sew it back on?
Is it lost forever?
Damn, this is scary and now he's not certain

She is now cursing
And then she will sue
She'll want several million
Will insurance cover?

Yikes! 5's
Thanks, Johnny.
Ewww! I just HAD to click on the title though. 5's
Adagio - "Thumb-times" that's all an author needs...thanks! Don't worry, I believe we are just about through with characters losing hands and fingers in this parody project. although I haven't done 5 of them yet from the titles and ideas I've decided to work with I think only one of them might have a problem of that sort. And that might not be what happens there, either...I love this, I don't know for sure myself at this point...
the thumbs march on.....hee hee hee
Alvin - Thanks! This was the one that started me thinking I could "pull-off" the 'Thumbs'. The minute I finished it I had the idea for the "You Don't Have To Cry" Thumb version. I thought, Jeez...could I possibly,,,?
