| Original Performer: | Creedence Clearwater Revival |
| Parody Song Title: | "(Playin' in the) Gravel and Sand" |
| Parody Written by: | Harry |
Soil dirty soil, rain drops out of the sky.
Oh! Won’t you shove me down the mud pit on a playground slide,
I wallow (in) ooze.
Chorus:
Playin’ in the gravel and sand. yeah!
Well, I’m playin’ ring toss in sand, tryin to wet my hands,
Playin’ in the gravel and sand.
Take me where the rain fell, mucky grime, oh, swell!
Jump in, Jump in, won’t you hit me with a broom,
I wallow (in) ooze.
Chorus
Swimming in a gravy boat, walk and shout, a blast, yo!
Some fun, real exciting, glad to fall in “lake mudpit”-ah!
Lotsa ooze.
Chorus
Oh! wow!
Here I jump again in the slop in daylight
Oh! wet hair! tossin sand with might yeah!
Won’t you wet me with some slime,
I wallow (in) ooze.
Chorus
Oh! wow!
Oh! I’m playin’ in the gravel and sand;
Playin’ in the gravel and sand.
Won’t you wet me, shake my hand
Swell, I’m playin’ in a gravel pit, man!
Swell, I slide in grass and sand.
Tryin’ to dry on land,
Playin’ in the gravel and sand, oh! wow!
Hay!

Excellent parody, title so dang close to the original. This was the very first 45 I ever bought with Who'll Stop the Rain on the flip side.
Thanks, Jim! This was on a cassette of Cosmos Factory I had years ago. Can't find the tape in all my Spring clutter. Thankfully, I have Chronicle, Vol. 1.
LOVE CCR, and this parody!!
Great job, Harry.
