The Lyrics

Will this series ever end? Will everyone quit writing "I Put a Spell on You"? Will the Republicans find someone who can defeat the most unpopular president in US history?
Ship founders in the autumn gales
Leaking as the structure fails
A fearful cry
Soft murmurs of a desperate prayer
Rain and lightning fill the air
No rescue try
Sharp, stinging slash of sleet and hail
Ice is freezing on the rail
'Neath a starless sky

They say that safety waits in Whitefish Bay
Fifteen miles to go
The captain knows, in its final throes
The Edmund Fitz is through
'Neath the waves she starts to go
Oh, no, no, no

We feel the pain, mystery we can't explain
We think about the Fitz again
The ship and crew
The ship and crew

It has been said the lake won't yield her dead
Not one body found
But we all know that they sleep below
The twenty-nine man crew
Where the deepest currents flow
The light won't go

And when the squall blows across the lake each fall
This tragedy we still recall
The Fitz and crew
The Fitz and crew

Yes, the Republicans did find someone to beat the most unpopular President in American history. His name was John McCain. Unfortunately, the Bush campaign smeared him in the South Carolina Primary, then stole the vote in Florida, thus ensuring that Bush became the most unpopular President in American history.

This is turning into a voyage of the damned. Will it all end up in the mothballed fleet? Only time and rhyme will tell. There is nothing Obama and the Democrats can do to fix the economy. Unfortunately, they are going to do something. When the needs of the nation require concentration, they'll focus, focus...
