Parody Song Title:

"Continuing Story of Bill, Shrub and Mark"

Parody Written by:

John Newmark

The Lyrics

This song could go on forever with a different politician in every verse.
Hey, President Bill
Who did you thrill
President Bill?

He took his cigar hunting: intern Monica was fun.
In case of accidents he always wore condoms
He's the all American Southern Democratic mother's son

All the people sing

Hey President Shrub
What did you flub
President Shrub

Deep in the desert where no mighty weapon lies
Shrub and his elephants were taken by surprise
Iraqi terr'ists zapped 'em right between the eyes

All the people sing

Hey, House Member Mark
What did you spark
House Member Mark?

His young pages told him his email was a sin
"He was abused as a kid," his lawyer butted in
If news can kill the GOP may soon be hurtin'

All the people sing

Hey, House Member Mark
What did you spark
House Member Mark

Hey, President Shrub
What did you flub
President Shrub

Hey, President Bill
Who did you Thrill
President Bill

Probably shouldn't comment after just one vote. Humor is subjective (especially political humor), so I expect opinions to vary. However, I do work on making the parody scan to the original, so if someone feels there is a gross error in the scansion I would appreciate a comment telling me where I flubbed. How the votes end up doesn't matter to me, however, if there is room for improvement, I'd like to know. Thanks.

Hey John, ignore Mr. Ones Man..."he/she/it" has no consideration of artistic ability and throws 1's around like it was money. Here's a fair assessment---pacing was spot on, and the lines were funny and matched well. Considered as a simple trilogy describing a few of our most recent infamous political snafus, it worked well. Kudos also for being bi-partisan in your critique, too. If you are a newb, I say "very well done" for your start. 555

Thanks. Somewhat a newb. I've been writing for years - humor, poetry, short fiction, and I'm very used to critique, and can take the bad with the good. I haven't written much in the way of song parodies as I can't sing or play a musical instrument, but I love to listen to them, so I thought I would try my hand at them. When I started looking around the net to find a place to get feedback, I discovered this site. It's a treasure trove for song parodies.

I echo everything Agrimorfee said. While it wouldn't have avoided the 1s-person, calling this "The Continuing Story of Shrub, Mark and Bill" might have garnered a bit more attention, if only because it rhymes slightly better to The Original Song (TOS) title.
