Wipe the tears of blood they cry
Fearless troops who rope and die
Troops who march on out the door
And advance through the fog of war
Rifles leveled from their chests
Watch and learn from the Army's best
A half-dozen will fall today
But the rest keep their own tan berets
Aiding ungrateful strangers
Who want to kill the Rangers
Gun in hand and child in arm
Even if they come to harm
Rifles leveled from their chests
Watch and learn from the Army's best
A half-dozen will fall today
But the rest keep their own tan berets
Into death's dark crucible
The Rangers aren't invincible
One man's end proves it untrue
Life leaves him in Mogadishu
My rifle's leveled from my chest
I salute them, the Army's best
The half-dozen who fell that day
Honor them with my tan beret
Fearless troops who rope and die
Troops who march on out the door
And advance through the fog of war
Rifles leveled from their chests
Watch and learn from the Army's best
A half-dozen will fall today
But the rest keep their own tan berets
Aiding ungrateful strangers
Who want to kill the Rangers
Gun in hand and child in arm
Even if they come to harm
Rifles leveled from their chests
Watch and learn from the Army's best
A half-dozen will fall today
But the rest keep their own tan berets
Into death's dark crucible
The Rangers aren't invincible
One man's end proves it untrue
Life leaves him in Mogadishu
My rifle's leveled from my chest
I salute them, the Army's best
The half-dozen who fell that day
Honor them with my tan beret

This WASN'T Power Rangers related! 111
Nor was it New York hockey related. (Thank God.) In this case, "How Funny" should be replaced with "How Well Made Its Point." It's time to get these Rangers out of Iraq and back onto the trail of al-Qaeda and the Taliban in Afghanistan. Then we WILL be fighting a war on terror, instead of a war of error.
Actually, it's about the Battle of Mogadishu. HELLO? "Life leaves him in Mogadishu." As in Sergeant Pilla. This is nothing more than a nod to the 75th Ranger Regiment dead on October 3-4, 1993, the date Somalis refer to as "Day of the Rangers." I mean, really; Iraq be DAMNED!
