Arcade Junkie

The Lyrics

There's just one subject you couldn't take at any college or university...
Heard about an arcade
Southwest of Harlem
Q*Bert's gotta be there
But you gotta call him

Even the soldiers
need a break sometimes
Listen to the sounds, y'all
it'll unwind your mind

No intoxocation
Unless you see what I see
Playing hot & sweaty
right in front of me

Call it what you want
I'm gonna call it how it be
This is just another one of God's gifts

Keep the arcade open
Just like I told ya
Kick a old school joint
for the retro soldiers

Wish I had a quarter
For everytime you say
Don't you miss the feeling
the classics gave ya
back in the day?

Pac-Man, Ms. Pac-Man
Qix, Marble Madness
Breakout, Space Ace
Tron's gonna take you higher

Lots of friends and quarters
can make a 4-player jam
Take your pick
An upright or cocktail?

If it ain't Snake Pit or Gyruss or Gorf
Know what? They're losin'
'Cause we got a Ph. D. in advanced Joystick movin'

Keep the arcade open
Just like I told ya
Kick an old school joint
for the retro soldiers

Good parody, but too similar to the original lyrics. But good effort, that was a hard sond to parody, I've tried, it never got to amiright though.

I agree with genius head - Excellent effort. A parody is properly done with ones own original words for the song - anything less detracts from the work, and leaves it unfinished. Keep it up - your potential shines through in the work you have posted thus far.
