I've heard a lot of Johnny Rebel (real name Clifford Trahan) songs, but I'm not familiar with this one. But I can easily imagine the original lyrics. Rumor has it that some Black musicians sat in on the recording sessions.
This song would've been good to have around in the late 19th Century.
