The Lyrics

Hey, YOU try to spend a month on Macbeth without cracking
[intro]
Shakespeare's writing is very good.
Yo I don't understand it though.
yeeah, yeeah, yeeah, yo, 2 step with me, 2 step with me.

[1st verse]
1, here comes the 2 to the 3 to the 4,
At third period I'm on the second floor,
Romeo and Juliet's stacked on the floor,
Feelin like I'm gonna be in hell readin scores,
Then the teacher says we ain't readin that book,
It wasn't any better she guessed by the way I looked,
Bottom of the barrel cause I can't read this stuff,
Shakespeare makes me cry when I've had enough,
here comes the 3 to the 2 to the 1,
Mecbeth went crazy killing King Ducan
when it came to swords man he did this for fun,
you aint got one Donelbain you betta run,
now i'm reading bout how Malcolm came and won
while I'm reading on i'm writing down notes for fun
Pen in my mouth thinking wow, this is cool
Lady Macbeth went crazy like whoo

[chorus]
Now everybody in the class reading Shakespeare,
everybody in the class reading Shakespeare
Now everybody in the class reading Shakespeare,
everybody in the class reading Shakespeare
Now everybody in the class reading Shakespeare
everybody in the class reading Shakespeare
Now everybody in the class reading Shakespeare
everybody in the class reading Shakespeare

[verse 2]
2, here comes the 3 to the 4 to the 5,
now i'm lookin at teacher right in the eyes,
couple seconds passed now i'm staring at the skies,
while she tellin us what year the guy died,
said he wrote the play where everybody died,
We ain't read it yet but that's alright,
i wonder if the guy was smokin on some shrooms,
When he wrote that play called Taming of the Shrew,
here comes the 4 to the 3 to the 2,
she gave us a surprise quiz right out the blue,
Man I can't remember act one that ain't cool
Instead of one day to study I need two
My eyes got big when I glanced at question 2
expression on my face says this I wish I knew,
And now I'm feelin bad cause this I know I blew
Now I'm feelin blue but I cannot go and sue.

[chorus]

[verse 3]
3, here comes the 4 to the 5 to the 6,
I barely failed the quiz, that's worse than gettin' sick
this A-B student ain't tryin to get lynched,
By her momma dangit man gotta get this fixed
Brushed it all off now it's time to go to lunch
snuk some orange juice man now I want some munch
homegirl trippin cause I know the whole book
now she at the table takin notes I took
here comes the 5 to the 4 to the 3,
hands in the air if you kids lost as me,
English on the set Birnam cut down those trees,
dude, help me out, what the hell does "hither" mean?

Now everybody in the class reading Shakespeare,
everybody in the class reading Shakespeare
Now everybody in the class reading Shakespeare,
everybody in the class reading Shakespeare
Now everybody in the class reading Shakespeare
everybody in the class reading Shakespeare
Now everybody in the class reading Shakespeare
everybody in the class reading Shakespeare

I thought this song was great. I happen to be reading "The Tragedy of Julius Ceasar" right now and I really can't understand a word of it. I hope to read more Shakespeare songs soon.
