The Lyrics

One of my Republican friends (yes, I have a couple) and I have edited our political discourse over the last few years to a shorthand. I mention the latest Republican shenanigan and he responds with "So?" It works for us, but sometimes I think I could charge into his cubicle and scream, "Soylent Green is PEOPLE!", and he'd reply, "So?" Then maybe he'd break into song...
My Green is Soylent.

My Green is Soylent
My food is pure
New York was starving
Not anymore.
An excellent source of protein
Is now feeding all the land
It's nutritious and good for you
But tasteless and bland

It's people, fool! It's people, fool!
It's people, fool - it's true!
They've been erased from this crowded place
Now they're feeding me and you.
Comes in red and yellow, too.

First the wheat and rye
Then the cows all died
'Cause the tem-per-a-ture was risin'
Way too high
And I don't think that we'll see Mom again
But she'll keep on feeding your big ass till the end

It's people, fool! It's poeple, fool!
It's people, fool - it's true!
Accept with grace what goes in your face
There is nothing we can do.
Tell me, what is eating you?

La la la la la la la la la...

It's people, fool! It's people, fool!
It's people, fool - it's true!
'Cause there's forty million crowded in this small space
And there's no food around 'cept for me and you!

So it's time to face the truth.
Someday dinner will be you.

I don't know how many SG parodies there are on the site (I think I had the first with "The Sound of Soylents"), but this one is delicious! A five-course meal. James Blunt, of course, is not on the menu. Nobody is THAT hungry. (Old joke, I first heard it as, "Why wasn't Barry Manilow asked to play Live Aid?")

Thanks everyone! Michael - we do not eat "blunts". We smoke them. :)
