Original Performer:

Parody Song Title:

"It's Getting Old"

Parody Written by:

It was inspiring.

It was inspiring.
You had your fun,
You had a field day,
It's overdone.
It's been broadcast on the airwaves,
Ever since last May -
But, now it's time to give it a rest -
It's after Labor Day.

It's getting old,
It's getting old -
It's time you changed
Your tune.
That same song keeps going strong -
Although it's long past June -
It will be history soon.

Yes, you made your point,
That you hate James Blunt,
Your parodies are obvious on -
Am I Right.
But there's a host of,
Other weenies still -
Like Kenny Rogers,
And Dan Hill.

It's getting old,
It's getting old -
It's almost -
Halloween.
So conger hosts of other ghosts -
That make you want to scream,
And turn your stomach green.

Neil Diamond,
Barbra Streisand,
Oh, noooooo - Rod Stewart!

It's getting old,
It's getting old,
So lay another egg.
There must be other groaners that make you want to gag -
Past or present treacle that you thought was such a drag.
So, now it's time to bag that song.
It's cloying as eggnog.

`Beautiful' job! (and not at all cloying...I'd have given ya' high makrs for that word alone). Here's 5, spiked, nutmeg topped brimming yards o' ale, er, um yolk for ya'!

So many truly awful songs to parody, so little time.

This song may take the record for most parodied song on this site...if it hasn't, already...good one, here

well written, and some great lines, but I don't necessarily agree - too much lampoonong is barely enough! - 555

Eagle, Eagle, Eagle... It's because the original song got so old so fast that there are so many parodies of it! That, and that impossibly lame video. That, and Blunt Instrument's awful imitation of Barry Gibb making Franki Valli look bad. AFW: I realize it's been four years since it hit the charts, but the all-time Amiright Champion has still got to be... can I make it any more obvious? Stuart: "Lampoonong"? Is that a small town outside Sydney? Oh, you meant "Lampooning"! Oh, in that case, you are absolutely right: The dumber the song, the more good parodies there should be!

I agree with John Barry's assessment. AFW: Not there yet, though this is the most parodied song of 2006 on AmIRight by a wide margin.

2Eagle: Indeed, it has long since gotten old, but funny new takes on it, like this one, make it worthwhile.

I try to not plug my work much anymore, but I trashed Dan Hill with this:
