The Lyrics

This parody takes place two weeks after the previous parody, "The Rewind." The main character, St. Snicky, has flown to New York to have a meeting with Nickelodeon executives about the current state of their network. St. Snicky is the personification of classic Nickelodeon as a whole, not just the SNICK portion of it. I didn't want to call him any variation of St. Nick, because I don't want a cease and desist from the Jolly One. As for the (mostly obscure) references: Michael Bower played Donkey Lips on Salute Your Shorts. Filbert, Heffer, and Rocko are characters on Rocko's Modern Life. "Blah-de-blah-de-blah" comes from the Ask Ashley sketch on All That. Kevin Kopelow was a writer, and played the stage manager, on the original All That. Kenan Thompson and Josh Server were castmembers on All That; Kenan is now on SNL and Josh was the longest-serving player on the former. Stick Stickly was the host of Nick in the Afternoon. Ickis and Krumm are two characters no Aaahhh! Real Monsters. Rewind is a reference to the Nick Rewind collection. And the big orange couch was a fixture on SNICK in the 1990s; it was retired in 2000 as part of Nick's 21st birthday.
(St. Snicky is walking into the Nickelodeon building at 1515 Broadway.)

Jim Neutron's takin' over Nickelodeon
He and that Spongebob dude air in reruns everyday
The Fairly Oddparents
The only good shows left
Spongebob, Drake & Josh, the Fairies ... Nick, Nick
Ya, ya, ya, ya!

(Snicky walks up to the reception desk.)

My name is Snicky and you better not wear it out
All these shows from '92 your siblings talked about
I ruled your Saturdays and I'm here to represent
The needle in the vein of Nickelodeon

(Snicky is walking down the hall.)

I'm the patron saint of Michael Bower
With a Rugrat's face and a taste for Ren & Stimpy

Filbert, Heffer, Rocko and a blah-de-blah-de-BLAH!!
I am the son of a gun and Kevin Kopelow
Raised on the channel of the green-colored slime
The product of Viacom, now we've been victimized

I'm the patron saint of Kenan Thompson
With Josh Server's face and a taste for Hidden Temples

(Snicky is heading towards the elevator.)

Rest in peace, Stick Stickly
I'll give Nick somethin to cry about!!
St. Snicky!!

(Guitar solo -- Snicky walks into the office of Nickelodeon's president.)

My name is St. Snicky, friends are Ickis & Krumm
I'm the one that aired on Sat'day nights (St. Snicky)
There's TEENick's new crap now executing the fun
we all had in the age of grunge (St. Snicky)

I'd really hate to say it but I told you so
When you released your Rewind DVDs, 'ol boy (St. Snicky)
Welcome to the club of Rocko and Doug
I'm the representation of the Good Ole Nick (St. Snicky)

It's Alex Mack!
And old All That!
It's St. Snicky!
And that's my name!!......
The big orange couch!!!!!!!!

(Snicky takes out and rips up a picture of former Nickelodeon president Herb Scannell.)

(SOTM) As a lover of Classic Nick, I really appreciate every one of your parodies, Chris. And the funny thing is, I don't usually like Green Day, but I rather enjoyed the OS.

(SOTM) These Nick parodies just keep getting better and better. A definite SOTM candidate.

Very well done, Chris. I watched a fair amount of Nick in my day and recognized more references than I would have thought. Here's to the big, orange couch!

SOTM - There's no guarantee that it will still be there when you (whoever you are) read this, but I found the original song here: Day/ST. Jimmy.wma

(SOTM) Who the hell is Snicky?! Oh, well. I recognise most of the shows mentioned. Spot on pacing, Chris.

bobpiecheese -- Snicky is just the character I made up for Nickelodeon Idiot. He is Classic Nickelodeon in human flesh. He is supposed to be a parody of St. Jimmy. Snicky drives the whole story. Scathe -- I am not Ethan, sorry. And thanks for your comments, everybody!

SOTM- Wow, what a way to take an idea and roll with it Chris. How many months has this been in now? Just kidding, dude. Keep em coming, and I'm glad you added Doug this time. I mean he makes this entire thing Funny... get it! Ha!

(SOTM) I know the OS and the pacing's excellent. Just not familiar with most of the characters. 555 for a good write though.

(sotm) I suspect I'm too old, and too Australian, for this because I'm not familiar with any of the references, but impressive realising of a concept Chris

(SOTM) Most of the name references were lost on me here too - it's been years since I watched Nickelodeon. I have to say that while this was good, I'm surprised you didn't enter "Induct Van Halen Right Now", which was one of the most creative and funny parodies I read in March. Great pacing on a fairly tough OS. 545.
Jeff Reuben - April 29, 2006 - Report this comment
(SOTM) I guess I watch enough Nick to still get something out of this (Spongebob rocks!) Nicely done to the OS.
Phil Alexander - April 30, 2006 - Report this comment
Having never seen anything of or by Nickelodeon, I'm afraid all of this went straight over my head.
Confission - April 30, 2006 - Report this comment
(sotm) i'd have to have a pretty unhealthy obsession with nickelodeon to get all the references, but i don't. got some of em though. pretty good

SOTM--thanks to a couple of nephews I've spent time with, I know EXACTLY what you'e talking about in this one. I am, sadly, not sure how I feel about that, though...; ) Nice work.

(SOTM) DKTOS but I know what you're talking about most of the time here... I can't believe that I REMEMBER all of those shows! I'm only 18! I was about to say you forgot Rocko's Modern Life, but nope, I found it next to Doug. Very complete!
