Original Song Title:

"Holiday"

Original Performer:

Green Day

Parody Song Title:

"Auditions (Simon's Song) (American Idol Part 3)"

Parody Written by:

Dominic L.

This is supposed to be sung by Simon Cowell about the "Horrendous" auditions. The Yawning with a capitol Y part is because one of his trademark insults is "That was appaling with a capitol A" or "That was Ghastly with a capitol G", and so on.
Sing! Hey! Cha!

Hear the sound of the wanting brains
Capable of the American fame? (Nay!)
The shame, nobody remembers their names.

Hear them all shouting out of key.
To a song by the name of "Proud Mary" (Hey!)
The greed, and the strong need, for precious money.

I beg and scream, tell them to stop their horrid cries.
This is the finding of the best, of those tries.
In auditions

Hear them all singing out of time.
Each and ev-e-ry one forgets their lines. (Wait!)
They try, to find their way, through all their cries.

Can I get another Ruben? (Ruben!)
It's a drag that no-one's good at singin' (pray!)
I gag, I raise a flag, we surrender, man!

I beg to beam to winners, ones without those cries.
I am now yawning with a capitol "Y."
In auditions

Hey! "three, four!"

Need bail to get out of audition.
Is this some kind of punishment?
I'm using all of my powers
To block out this boy, "William."
"She Bangs," goes that horrid voice, and
thrill it all lacks, you should agree.
People aren't tired, [of] Hung attire.
More than fifteen minutes for he.
Just "cos, just "cos he was on TV, yeah!

I beg and scream, tell them to stop their horrid cries.
This is the finding of the best, of those tries.
I beg to beam to winners, ones without those cries.
I am now yawning with a capitol "Y."
This is a day in auditioooooooooons

I used arrows which embedded and hid a spoken line after the guitar solo that's supposed to say "The contestant from Pennsylvania is a bore."

(SOTM) A fitting tribute to Mr. Cowell. If you DKTOS, I found a recording courtesy of our friend Spaff. (I just hope he doesn't mind...) spaff.com/dktos

(SOTM) Don't you hate it when some idiot tries to sing a famous song and screws it up good and proper? Obviously, Johnny, so do you.

SOTM - What? There's a search for another American Idol? What's wrong with Billy (Idol)? ;-)

(SOTM) I haven't watcher AI in quite a while but thankfully you didn't make this inaccessible to me with a ton of names that will mean nothing 3 months down the road (which you realised with "...nobody remembers their names"). Also loved "Iam now yawning with a capitol "Y."". Great parody Dominic. PS- Arrow keys when used in full will turn everything into HTML code, that's why your spoken line is missing. I caught it in your comment, great sub there too.

I thankfully never watched this god-awful show, but your idea and execution was terrific. I had a regualr "holiday" with this song!

(SOTM) Ahhh, parodies that lampoon "American Idol" --- one of my favorite parody-genres!
