Original Song Title:
Parody Song Title:
I had it great when I was just a high- school girl.
It didn't matter what I bought as long as I got it on sale.
I felt the pride for what I had right from the start
Whether it was for my head, or whether it could touch my heart.
'Cause I had just enough imagination, just enough to tell my mom
That somehow I would pay her back her dough.
When I'd get lost in a momentary stopping of my cash flow,
My parents came around to help me through.
I'd grab the money, I'd cruise my fave mall.
All I saw was, "I sure need this."
Half-price dresses! Cool!
Ticking Timex watch!
Save the dollars, count the change.
A sale! 55% off now!
I am free, shopping until I drop now.
Ca't you see, nobody's gonna stop the cash flow, no siree,
And in the stress to be the best, I bought it all.
I've bought bracelets, I've bought perfumes, a phone that rings, a basketball.
My friends could not tell back then when cash eluded me.
Kept giving in to that greedy need.
Knee deep in stuff I bought for $3.
Took that beige skirt and took that pink skirt, and I took earrings and a diamond ring
And I bought me a PlayStation and I hold my fave CD, "Celine Dion". I paid the dues.
Time flies by in money spent and receipts and loose change.
Here I stand in ruby slippers I bought at half- price range!
