That's just a generic short cut built into the operating system that shuts down your window. Handy to know, especially as it works in all windows (not just at amiright.com). It's the best April Fool's joke I've seen this year, but it doesn't work on techies. Now is it possible for you to tell me my IQ from this? I would be very impressed if so...

It's an old joke a friend of mine pulled back in the day of dial up BBSes. Back then, to hang up your modem you used ALT-H. He put IQ Test - ALT-H in the menu and was shocked at how often people forgot the command in a rush to test out this cool new quiz. It tests response skill more than IQ. Do you think before you leap?

For the record, I knew that this was an April Fool's Joke, but I did it anyways just to see what would happen. Having said that, I expected the joke to be about Weird Al performing someone's parody from this site considering that I read a parody by someone who fell for such a joke. Having said that, does anyone know about any more of Chucky's past April Fool's pranks, considering that I didn't discover this site until mid-2006?
Jonathan - April 03, 2007 - Report this comment

The Weird Al one was the first April Fool's joke I played on amIright (or any of my sites) and that was 2004. http://www.amiright.com/newsitems/items/newsitem_1080822084.shtml

2005 was the bumper crop. amIright was to be purchased by TimeWarner, William Tong was to be given his own talk show on the Fox News Network, and Weird Al was going to retire and join the Amish.

my wife (Susan G) suggested changing the front page of the site to indicate that the board was going to be a Sanjay fansite from this point onwards. I was going to do it, but ultimately lacked the motivation.
Dylan Baranski - April 05, 2007 - Report this comment
And a dang good thing you didn't. I don't know who Sanjay is, other than some random Indian dude that Mike Pacholek wrote a parody about. If you had done this, I would've been crankin' out parodies about how I didn't know who he was until someone told me who he was. Example: "No Sir, I Don't Know Him" (parody of "Yes Sir, I Can Boogie" by Baccara) Sample Lyrics: "No sir, I don't know him, but I know he's Indian. I don't know him, know him know him, help me man! No sir, I don't know him, is this guy in any bands?I don't know him, know him know him, help me man!"
