As part of the comment system upgrade yesterday, I installed an IQ test. Press CONTROL-W (command-w on Macs) to find out how smart you are.User Comments Follow...

That's just a generic short cut built into the operating system that shuts down your window. Handy to know, especially as it works in all windows (not just at amiright.com). It's the best April Fool's joke I've seen this year, but it doesn't work on techies. Now is it possible for you to tell me my IQ from this? I would be very impressed if so...
It's an old joke a friend of mine pulled back in the day of dial up BBSes. Back then, to hang up your modem you used ALT-H. He put IQ Test - ALT-H in the menu and was shocked at how often people forgot the command in a rush to test out this cool new quiz. It tests response skill more than IQ. Do you think before you leap?
Okay I'll take a stab at it I'll... What? What's Going On?!?! MY COMPUTER!!! NO!!! NOOOOO!!! "computer shuts down"
Although I knew that Ctrl-W shuts down the window, I still went ahead and did it. Me: "Ooooh, I LOVE IQ tests!!*clicks*...." Yeah, I'm stupid.
WARNING!!!!!! DON"T DO THIS, IT JUST CLOSES DOWN YER WINDOW, JUST AS EVERYONE ELSE HAS SAID!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Argh I've been tricked!!!11ONE! It closed my Internet Explorer tab :P. I am an idiot hahahah.
Oh. I see. This is your way of keeping my dumb twin brother in suspense! Ah ha ha ha!
ALRIGHT!!! I LOVE IQ TESTS Hey Wait Whats Happening My Internet Page NNOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!
For the record, I knew that this was an April Fool's Joke, but I did it anyways just to see what would happen. Having said that, I expected the joke to be about Weird Al performing someone's parody from this site considering that I read a parody by someone who fell for such a joke. Having said that, does anyone know about any more of Chucky's past April Fool's pranks, considering that I didn't discover this site until mid-2006?
nope sorry I discovered in back in mid 2005 but quit coming for a while then came back unfortunately I wasn't coming here in april of 06 however I DID fall for this one good job Chucky 5's for the prank!
The Weird Al one was the first April Fool's joke I played on amIright (or any of my sites) and that was 2004. http://www.amiright.com/newsitems/items/newsitem_1080822084.shtml
Last year, I said the Sex Pistols were going to perform at the first ever amIright Slam Fest: http://www.amiright.com/newsitems/items/newsitem_1143900015.shtml
2005 was the bumper crop. amIright was to be purchased by TimeWarner, William Tong was to be given his own talk show on the Fox News Network, and Weird Al was going to retire and join the Amish.
LOL! Weird Al joining the amish? dude you Are HILAROIOUS!!!
my wife (Susan G) suggested changing the front page of the site to indicate that the board was going to be a Sanjay fansite from this point onwards. I was going to do it, but ultimately lacked the motivation.
And a dang good thing you didn't. I don't know who Sanjay is, other than some random Indian dude that Mike Pacholek wrote a parody about. If you had done this, I would've been crankin' out parodies about how I didn't know who he was until someone told me who he was. Example: "No Sir, I Don't Know Him" (parody of "Yes Sir, I Can Boogie" by Baccara) Sample Lyrics: "No sir, I don't know him, but I know he's Indian. I don't know him, know him know him, help me man! No sir, I don't know him, is this guy in any bands?I don't know him, know him know him, help me man!"
