Yay, mashups! I found out about the genre only a few weeks ago, and have been addicted ever since. I now have about 600 megs of the stuff :).
I've been hearing them for awhile now... I turned this site grey for the "Grey Album" protest. A lot of them are absolute rubbish though. Occasionally though a great gem makes it way through the pile to shine.
I heard the mashup of 'Smells like Teen Spirit' and a Destiny's Child song on TMF (UK music videos station), which was like dancing on Kurt's grave. I liked the mashup of Blondie's 'Rapture' with the Doors' 'Riders On The Storm' better. This one of Weezer and Gwen Stefani gives an irritating song more of a tune.
