Behold the power of music against the people who infest the NYC subways. If only more people would do this, the subways of the world may be better.

Know 1 can hear you dream: This parody was written in response to this wonderful story about show tune retaliation against self-appointed loud voice evangelists in the subway. Amazingly enough I managed to finish it while this story was still on the first page, that must have been divine intervention... :-)

That was the best story I've ever heard... I was just in NYC for a visit and never got to hear anyone yell at a preacher woman... I'm jealous!

I've got preacher horror stories that would make the subway incident seem tame--like a homeless guy here in Madison yanking me out of my wheelchair and giving me a "drive-by exorcism". (I had not mentioned my religion to this man nor worn any obvious symbols, so I can only conclude that he belonged to a church which blamed demons for disabilities.) The saddest part is that when someone called 911 and the cops arrived, my would-be exorcist had left...and I myself was so upset, the cops reported that *I* was mentally ill! :(

Re the news story - I would have loved to have been there (and would probably have been with the guys harmonizing at the end)...

Ingeborg, I hope you set the police to rights... really can't believe that sort of thing happens in this day and age. >:-(

Has Ingeborg heard of a footballer-turned-manager called Glenn Hoddle? He was a born-again Christian who said of disabled people that they'd sinned in a previous life. This is one thing I have against fanatical Christians such as him. The other thing was the appalling 'Diamond Lights' record he made with fellow footballer Chris Waddle!

pickle - "Hoddle" and "Waddle"? People whose names rhyme should refrain from recording together...it's just wrong!
