Was that girl me? Last time I saw that in a movie theater, I was with a group of three other (female) friends. When we finally emerged from the movie we re-enacted the commerical. I was the purple one.

Hey, did anyone click the link on the starbucks site and see the similar commercial they did for the frappuccino? That stuff is good. Yet for some reason, when I drank it, I didn't feel as relaxed as I do when I'm listening to non-threatening doowop from the 50s (which I realize no one cares about, but darnit, I like it.). but maybe that's just me. Anyway both commercials are very entertaining. The fanta clips however were only good for about two weeks, then they started getting annoying. That's all.

The reason the Survivor Starbucks commercial is so good is that these guys have been living off that one blasted song for 23 years, it's almost as if they were a One-Hit Wonder. (Not quite: "Burning Heart" from "Rocky IV" made it to Number 2.) So the sight of a washed-up band looking to recapture their former glory is a whole lot funnier than if a band with an actual legacy, say, AC/DC, were shaking up bottles of Mountain Dew singing, "You... shook awwwwl niiiight lonnnng!" Because then we could say, "Angus, dude, ya sold out!" Whereas a band like Survivor, they pretty much have to sell out, 'cause they can't sell out The Garden anymore. If they ever could.

Hey all- My friends and I are being the Fantanas for Halloween too. We just bought the approproate colored clothes from thrift stores and fabric stores, but for the shoes, we are covering platforms in white tape and then buying white ribbon to lace up our legs to mock the espadrilles that the fantanas wear. hope that helps.
