In one of John Lennon last interviews in 1980 he predicted the collapse of Eastern Europe. He said, "They've been hearing rock music and once they hear rock they won't accept oppression", or something to that effect. Another influence was TV. Larry Hagman said that Dallas helped to bring down those governments too.

I saw "School Of Rock" yesterday. In Jack Black terms, they "stuck it to the man!"

Well, the Taliban banned all music, and look what happened to them. Any society that represses it's entertainment to a point where simple rock music can't be played, is asking to be overthrown.

Yeah Chucky you're right on that one. What I meant basically was that if Rock n' rol killed off the communism in some countries why not China then, I believe that would make a positive impact on this world, or maybe I'm a bit out biking on that theory? one can always hope anyways, eh?:-)

Oh and Btw...Look what happened to the Soviet Union, maybe it was Scorpions and Bon īJovi and those guys who made such an impact back in the monsters of rock era in the 80's, who really knows?

Why do you think the government of China is banning rock 'n' roll? Maybe they know we're on to something.

I'd say you and Adam are right, Chucky. You know both sides of the cold war considered rock to be a threat to their way of life, but only the USSR was right about it. It almost makes me sorry someone didn't take an SUV loaded wiht huge speakers and blast L7 or Twisted Sister near the border. I know, Dee Snyder said some other band should've been used on Manuel Noriega, but I forget who it was(Venom, perhaps?).

"It almost makes me sorry someone didn't take an SUV loaded with huge speakers and blast L7 or Twisted Sister near the border." By this I meant the AFGHAN border.

Jonathan, I think that the communism in China would be loosened up if they were listening to more Rock. Thats my point. C'mon man look at the history....
