How come The Smoking Gun didn't report this? This is an outrage! ::) But seriously, I saw this coming a mile away. And fake or not, I just don't give a (expletive) about the Osbourne family. And Sharon will still have her fake talk show, so no big whoop.
Amused - August 15, 2003 - Report this comment
I find it incredibly amusing you people commenting how you "Don't care" and so on and so forth, when this entire thread is based on the subject you claim not to care about. So why post? Silly people.
kat - August 16, 2003 - Report this comment
First of all, I agree with "amused" comments...I would like to know if the entire show was scripted just out of curiosity. By the way, the finale showed what a good actor Ozzy can be. It looked like he was really upset about the dog. I didn't know he could do that.
agi - August 16, 2003 - Report this comment
wow...I agree i thought ozzy is a pretty good actor for someone who has been frying his brain for the past 30 years. I just saw the last episode which led me to beleive that the whole series may be fake--that's why I'm here. Makes you think (if you care that is).
C-meezee - August 16, 2003 - Report this comment
I didn't find the last episode to be fake at all.. cause they showed Jack and the dog in the bed... then Jack putting the dog in the bag (even though they didnt show the actual dead dog) But at the end they show the supposed dead dog alive again..... It wasn't the same dog...Or maybe I'm wrong, I don't know... but i DO care... why the hell would someone say they don't care about another persons life or someones family JUST because they're on TV? That seems pretty fucced up to me...
Tinkleheimer - August 18, 2003 - Report this comment
I saw the episode yeterday and almost broke down crying seeing Ozzy finding out Minnie was dead, it was like one of his own kids. They did some good acting and teaching Ozzy to read:)
Samantha - August 18, 2003 - Report this comment
Ummm....didn't you notice that the camera did not show him actually "killing" Minnie? And putting her in the duffle bag, that could have easily been a stuffed animal. While Pomeranians do look similar, they don't look THAT similar- it was definitely Minnie. Since there's going to be a fourth season, I don't think that the entire show is scripted. Sharon admitted that certain ideas, like having the family meeting, having the dog therapist and whatnot, was planned, but that there wasn't necessarily a "script".

I also just saw the episode and thought everything was actually going on until the end of the show when they proved it was scripted. along with most everyone else here i don't understand why they would make it seem as if jack was a dog murderer in his sleep. and ozzy (which by the way i think is a good actor too agreeing with you other ppl! heh)but i think they went kind of overboard with that last part. I also don't think the other episodes were scripted but thats just what i think.
RDarke - August 20, 2003 - Report this comment
I remembered the recent Ladies Home Journal with Sharon on the cover, posed with Minnie. So when my kid was asking "is she really dead?" I immediately responded "no." Then as I watched Ozzy getting upset, etc... I started getting all depressed... Some local radio show was saying that it was a practical joke played by Ozzy & Jack on Sharon. But I highly doubt that Ozzy would do such a thing, given her situation at the time. I thought it was cruel. 8-(
Blindblonde - August 20, 2003 - Report this comment
There were two scenes at the end. One where the crew was "packing" up everything and the animals. Anyone notice how Jack looked so un-nerved? Not the normal "I'm out to lunch, don't give a fig" look. Then there is the end where they are all on the steps, waving goodbye. He was smiling there, but it looked like he was given a cue to do so. So what's he so nervous about? That we would all believe that he really killed a dog?
Angelfire - August 21, 2003 - Report this comment
The Osbournes sick sense of humor is well known, but Sharons love for Minnnie is well known as well, so I wonder what the hell was going on there that she would allow this episode to air unless it was to show the dark spiral Jack was falling down - because this was during his dalliance with hard drugs was it not? this would explain his nightmares and violent and homicidal tendencies - such behavior is typical is for someone under the influence - AND IT'S LUCKY he didn't really kill one of those animals in reality. Maybe he really did. Ozzies tears did seem awfully real to me, and it seems odd that this is the only episode that had to be scripted. If you look at Jack at the close of that show he doesn't crack a smile. Help came just in time for that kid if you ask me.
ozzbuster - August 21, 2003 - Report this comment
what a disappointment the last few episodes of the Osbournes turned out to be.... BOOORRRIIINNNGG....... They really were reaching if they had to fabrictate the death of Sharons fourth child, Minnie. Yet something tells me it might be true. I agree with Angelfire that it is a real possibilty that Jack really did it in a drug induced rage and they covered it up by making it appear scripted. If not, and episodes were scripted then the public has been ripped off royally and I have a new found disgust for Sharon Osbourne. The one I really feel for in that family is Ozzy. She has no qualms about allowing him to look like a total ass in front of America as long as he keeps the $$$ coming in. The man is obviously not well, yet she parades him in fron t of the cameras like the elephant man. A real class act that one.

The last episode was about a few things. Kelly was supposedly going to marry Burt. Jack "killed" a dog. This to me, was a sad episode. It makes people wonder if all of them were fake. I personally think that there was a little script in all. In the end, you see the whole family with the filming crew, and they are all happy about the end of the show. Ozzy say "I don't have to say the F word anymore", which immediately made me wonder if the show was fake. In this shot, you can also see minni, which was supposedly dead. I dont know, I have know idea about Osbourne script or no script thing.
T-bone - August 22, 2003 - Report this comment
Ah, come on! As soon as jack told three different people about his sleep anger you could tell he was setting up something. It was very poor scripting. He wouldn't shut up about it. By the time he grabbed the dog I could tell the show was B.S., thank god it wasn’t really that into the show. Oh yeah... and does anyone know how to decipher billy bobs numeric language up there?
Mike k - August 22, 2003 - Report this comment
Did anyone notice that the third part of the season finale was played twice back to back when the season finale was initially aired? I'm thinking they got the parts mixed up because the ending, when Jack killed teh dog was played after the second commercial and then after the third commercial. I just saw a rerun of it and I saw footage I never saw when I originally watched it, and Im sure I watched the entire episode.
balls - August 22, 2003 - Report this comment
I certainly dont think thats the whole show was fake...well after ozzy said i dont have to say fu*k anymore at the end of the season finale 5 seconds later he says sh*t and then 5 seconds after that he says fu*k. And the whole cue card thing well i dont see how they would be looking at cue cards the whole show when they are looking at a wall and talking. Naybe they had lines to remember? But at the end of the season finale he was holding up a cue card. Ozzy picked up a peice of dog sh*t andf said take ur dog sh*t home, and they were packing up the other dogs like they never really owned them and they threw the dogs in the show to spice it up. Ya, i do think that they spiced the show up a little bit throughout the seasons to get ratings like when they threw a piece of wood in their neighbors yard the first season but the whole thing wasnt an act like they supposedly tried to make you think at the end of the last eposode.
Vince - August 23, 2003 - Report this comment
It's really very simple...this season finale was a scripted, planned-ut joke by the Osbournes and its producers on us, the public. Then they decided to make it seem like all the dogs and stuff were fake to throw people off a little bit. But there is one thing that did stick in my mind as being very odd...anyone notice how Ozzy talked when he said "Now I don't have to use the f-word anymore". He sounded completely normal, which makes me think that him being half-retarded and a burnout was all staged...I would really like to hear Sharon or Ozzy explain all this (don't worry...the questions WILL come)
balls second reason - August 23, 2003 - Report this comment
this is balls again, if the whole thing was an act which they wanted to make you think remember the kelly christina feud eposode well i dont think that was an act because in one on the oarts in that show the tv was on and sharon and ozzy were watching it and they had a headline about kelly and the christina feud and i dont think the producers called up the news and told them to air that to make it seem like the fight kelly and her were in was more real this was clearly fact.

This is what i believe, the Osbornes show was a very deep insight into the functions of this family. I believe there was soemthing within their contract that if some tragedy happened they would be alleviated of anything too private being revealed to the public by hoaxing that the entre show was fake. The Gag clips at the end with minnie and the cue cards anc camera crews could have been previously recorded footage. I certainly dont think the episode was funny at all, Sharon leaving after finding out about Minnie, Ozzys reaction to hearing it from Jack. If it was acting, tell me it wasnt Oscar worthy, I wouldn't mind giving them that credit if it was actign, but i believe those reactions were all authentic. And that the real 'fake' footage is the stuff we though was revealing the making of entire show. I think something much too persoal was beign revealed for the Osbornes adults to be comfortable sharing with all of America and that they pulled the cord on the show. Wouldnt the intervall between the Third and Forth season be enough of a break after some family tragedy happened? Id like to know what my theory looks like compared to other information I may not know but you all do. Is the Osbournes fake? I dont believe.

Also Look they recieved an Emmy for the show too. Rememeber Nilly Vanilly , that band that had their Grammy taken from them after finding out they lip synced their record. Well no ones heard of the Osbournes having their Emmy revoked? "MTV's hit reality show, The Osbournes, won the Outstanding Non-Fiction Programming (Reality) Emmy Award Saturday (Sept. 14) night at the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences' Creative Arts Awards ceremony in Los Angeles. These awards are the precursor to the prime-time special - the 54th Annual Emmy Awards - which airs on Sunday, September 22. Sharon Osbourne was present to accept the award for the family. "

ALSO when we all saw Minnie was okay, there was no dialogue like "Oh im so glad Minnie is okay." No she was just THERE. The footage with minnie was presented to show us that minnie was "ok", but it wasnt RECORDED to show us minnie was okay, i dont think so anyway. Is there any footage in the concluding gag clips that refer SPECIFICALLY to the episode that preceded it? No.

I watched this episode for the first time on MTV last night and was almost in tears seeing Ozzy looking so upset about Minnie BUT noticed the camera was a little out of shot when Jack "Killed" the dog. My thoughts were: that that episode WAS scripted - simple as. Everyone figured that out. Then they show Ozzy fumbling over the "I love you both. I love you more than life itself but you're all f*cking mad" bit. I pointed out that this simply may have been a ploy to make you think the whole thing was acted. Maybe Ozzy really said that and they asked him to do it again making it look like "out takes" from a previous scripted episode. We've seen him pull off near tears when Minnie's life came to a supposed end, who says he couldn't stutter out a couple of words for the fun of confusing all the viewers?

Parts of the show have been staged/edited for entertainment purposes before, Kelly even admitted it in an interview. And I think it was at the start of series two...when Ozzy was throwing knives at a piece of wood in the garden, you could see the shadow of a camera man (stood behind Ozzy) on the floor. Then in the next shot Kelly was seen looking fed up at her Dad, but there wasn't a cameraman stood with him. Then it flicked back to an Ozzy close up. Magic! AND THEN there's the parts they show whenever two people are speaking on the phone to eachother. The phone in the hairdressers being tapped with a mic? A camera crew filming Sharon at that specific time? Suuure. Plus, MTV are reluctant to show or mention Aimee Osbourne, and she was never shown during her mum's cancer scare... They're pretty funny people, but the show's more soap opera than Reality TV. Yeah, I've wrote too much.

I was shocked about the ending of the last episode ,shocked about the fact that it seems to be a fake and shocked because Ozzy proved to be a damn good actor!! When he started crying about Minnie I was totally convinced it was real. But then again, how could this entire show be real, there's no family on earth, not even a Rock- Star's family , which has so many things going on and happening all the time! But I thought it was very entertaining anyways! I liked to watch it and switch off ,better than watching all those brain damaging Talk Shows all the time. I mean the Osbournes were somehow brain damaging ,too, but at least they were entertaining!
Hook, Line, and... - January 05, 2004 - Report this comment
~People who are saying that the Osbournes were entirely scripted and fake either never liked the show to begin with and are just talking smack (pretending like anyone cares about their opinion), or they are the most gullible idiots on the planet and believe everything that they see, hear, read, smell etc. Ozzy's obviously messed up because of his quack doctor overperscribing medications, Sharon's know to be a fibber but she never tells bold face lies, Aimee hates the show and has no interest in participating (she's just off camera or has her face blurred), Kelly really did have an issue with Christina Agulera... but it's since been settled, and as for Jack come on! Who picks up dogs and kills them in their sleep? And isn't it a coincidence that the camera is filming the incident with the lights out, (in night-vision no less) just out of view of the action? The whole family swears, in other DVDs with Ozzy he and the family act just the same and on albums prior to the show's filming Ozzy has included his dogs in his thank lists, so they arent just given to them. ~So maybe the film crew did suggest a dog therapist, that's the kind of stupid things they do in Beverly Hills. And maybe the meeting to discuss Jack and Kelly's bad habits was unusual for the family, but what would you do if your spoiled children were up a all hours, skipped school, did drugs and alcohol, and partied with their friends non-stop? ~If you want to learn if the Osbournes are real or not watch the 3rd season, (no not the "4th" season, the second season just had twice as many episodes so the 3rd season hasn't started yet). Jack will confront his drug addiction, Sharon will start her talk show, Kelly will re-release her album, and Ozzy will stop acting so "shakey" when he finds fault in his doctor's overmedication. Talk about dull? The only interesting things (or rather comedic moments that the show is know for) to happen will be Ozzy's ATV accident. What's that's not funny? MTV thinks that everyone is funny, they gave Tom Green his start didn't they? Sick. ~I remember when MTV meant Music TeleVision. It sure as hell doesn't mean that anymore since the only things even resembling music only play during TRL, (another abbreviation that has changed names) and after midnight when they play every Deftones and Korn rip-off band in existence.

Oficiado comment by MTV, suckers! Just to put your minds at ease, Jack did not accidentally kill Minnie in his sleep. Minne is fine! And the entire series was not scripted...it has all been real (except for that last Minnie part, of course!). Just a little end-of-the-season prank, courtesy of America's funniest family, The Osbournes.
Coy - January 26, 2004 - Report this comment
Yeah, the whole show wasn't scripted. The whole bit at the end of the 3rd season was just a prank. Apparently it was just the producers, everyone that worked on the show, and the Osbournes themselves were involved in the joke and it was just intended to be a little stab at the critics and everyone else bad-mouthing the show. And it seems they got the message across. But that whole episode was real, excluding the part about Jack killing Mini, and possibly about his "night-terrors". I guess all you sceptics out there will just have to wait until tomorrow when the 4th season premieres. Maybe then there will be some closure. Or perhaps when the 4th season DVD comes out, and you watch the audio commentary for that episode. But you'll just have to wait a longer time for this because the 3rd season hasn't even come out on DVD yet. Although I buy the DVD's and I'm not in that big of a hurry to find out what the whole story is. But I think this is the best way to find out the whole situation. Believe me, the osbournes are all a loving family. And as far as the thing about Ozzy saying "I don't have to say the F-word again?".. He did indead cuss twice right after that statement. Plus, recently I remember watching a VH1 special on Ozzy and it had Kelly (at age 12-13) talking about her dad's "potty mouth". It also seemed like she and Jack hadn't gotten into the habit of it, because she seemed so aggrivated by it. I hoped my guidance in this matter is appreciated, and I atleast gave some of you some closure. -Later P.S.: Remember to watch the new season premiere tomorrow night at 10:30pm/9:30pm (central).

Well, I hope all of you like the 4th season premiere last night.. I know I did. And sadly, there was no mention of the chaos that took place during the 3rd season finale. Also, I would like to correct a mistake I made in my earlier post. I said that we'd have to wait for the 4th season dvd to come out to find closure, and that the 3rd season dvd hasn't come out yet. What I really meant to say was: "We'll just have to wait for the 3rd season DVD to come out. It will be a long time though, since the 2nd season DVD just came out, not too long ago. I'll do some research and see if I can find an exact date to when the 3rd season DVD does come out.
