Your can play rap music at full blast and not get a fine, but try to play Cliff Richard loud and you pay a fine. I'll have to find more rap music. (j/k)

Im a 22 year old Cliff Richard fan. Why are people so nieve when they think Cliff does'nt have a young following? There are loads of us out there but is it really that suprising? We are talking about Britains most successful recording artist - so it must be those of you that put him down are the ones that are missing out on something - im not!

"Britain's most successful recording artist"? Did Sir Cute One die and I missed it? Oh yeah, the album covers... Cliff Richard is no more Britain's most successful recording artist than Garth Brooks is America's.

Elvis Presley spent 1,173 weeks on the UK singles charts, Cliff Richard spent 1,147. Madonna is a distant third with 568. As far as hit singles go though, Cliff Richard has 123 and Elvis 113. Elton John is a distant third with 74. What's amazing, is Cliff Richard is virtually unknown in the US, wheras in in the UK, he's as big as Elvis (well, maybe as popular as, but not as big as, yuk yuk).

So is Cliff Richard something like the UK version of Neil Diamond - a showman with a sizeable following whom many people love to ridicule while his fans adore him?

It just goes to show that Cliff Richard appeals to all ages and his music maybe 'Easy Listening' but enjoyable. The obsession with base, aggressive music fashion is usually sang by rich, spoilt brats who have nothing to be agressive about and are not even notable. Glad to see the 'Young ones' still out there!

Sorry to digress, but people here don't seem to want to admit that Cliff is a great performer, and unlike Elvis, is still going strong. Cliff does have a strong youth following, even out here in Australia. I'm sick of seeing people's public comments of Clifff Richard attracting such an "Anti-Cliff" attitude. Face up to the facts...these pessemistic people have an incurable complex about the man and can't resist putting in their two cents worth of degradation.

Cliff Richard is the biggest dork in the world. The only hit he had in America was courtesy of Olivia Newton-John. The 1980 single "Suddenly".

I find it amazing that some people maintain that Cliff has a universal following in the U.K. I am 28 old and I have never met anyone my age who admits to liking his music. Come to think of it I have never met anyone who is less than 50 years old who does. There is a large proportion of the U.K. population who are born between 1935 and 1955. These are the hard core who have loyally followed him since there youth in the late 50's ,60's and early 70's. The young people attending his concerts are probably taking there mother or grannie out for a treat. Or they have gone for a family night out. In America no one no he exists (with the exception of a few British ex-patriots!). And in certain parts of Europe his fan base is mainly the middle adged and old. The other places where he has had fame are the far east. I should imagine folks there are too poor buy records let alone own a record player. Cliff claims he has sold 260 million records. I think that is stetching the truth some what!!

Cliff Richard is a smarmy hypocrtit. He acts like he is Mr Clean, the devout christian. Notice that he publicly bad mouths other stars. He had the cheek to say Elvis Presley's films were rubbish. If Elvis films were rubbsh then what are Cliff Richards?????? When would you ever hear Elvis bad mouth any other star???? Never. He is concieted and smarmy. He always boasting about his so called achievements to disguise the fact he has no talent. Cliff cut his career copying Elvis and then he has just copied and gone with the follow with other musical trends. The loyal legions of his fan base are those folk from the 50's and 60's that have followed his career and bought any rubbish he churns out. They are the people who are responsible for keeping his stuff in the charts!!

Has any one noticed that Cliff Richard and Tony Blair are very much a like??? Could they be the same person???? They both share very simular voices and express themselves in the same manner. They are both full of bull shit. They are both as equally smarmy and two-faced. They are both religious. They both love tennis. They are about the same height and build. They have never been seen together, so are they the same person????
