ABBA, "Summer Night City"
Misheard Lyrics:
In the sun don't feel like sleeping
...
I know love's waiting there for me
Tonight I move so fancy-free
...
Interest is the strange attraction
...
Time to breed and time to live
Waiting for the sunrise, toe-dancing - uh huh
...
Parking in the moonlight, love-making - uh huh
This illusion calls me clearly
...
Someone told me, "See the leerers.
We don't miss them when they're gone"
...
Our kind of people everywhere
...
And tomorrow, when they're spawning
And her pursed lips start to sing
In the daylight of the morning
Nothing's worth remembering
Original Lyrics:
In the sun I feel like sleeping
...
I know what's waiting there for me
Tonight I'm loose and fancy-free
...
Can't resist the strange attraction
...
Time to breathe and time to live
Waiting for the sunrise, soul dancing in the dark
...
Walking in the moonlight, love-making in a park
It's elusive call it glitter
...
Some folks only see the litter
We don't miss them when they're gone
...
My kind of people everywhere
...
And tomorrow, when it's dawning
And the first birds start to sing
In the pale light of the morning
Nothing's worth remembering
This song and the fast-paced music is about being horny before SEX! more than any other song written but some of the actual lyrics miss the mark. C'mon Bjorn, If a woman is thinking about getting lucky, she doesn't sleep in the sun! The only 'park'ing in the moonlight should be in a car, not copulating in a public park!! And what the hell has (Gary) Glitter and litter got to do with it?! And birds going "tweet, tweet, tweet"? Yes, but only the miniskirted variety when they're getting down!
