Jim Ellis, "WKRP In Cincinnati (Closing Theme)"
Misheard Lyrics:
Whatcha gonna have
Give it to the boys in a pocket ball bet uh-huh
I said goodnight bartender
I'd better head out
I said I wouldn't do it if you
Poured another beer uh huh.
Original Lyrics:
Went to the bartender, whatcha gotta have.
Still little more bit of alcohol in uh huh
I said good bartender
I had better an head'a (head out)
I said I would do it, and I could,
then I did uh huh
Metaphor:
We (the viewers of WKRP) are the drunk guy. How?
The TV Show is so good that we want more, like a drunk wants more alcohol.
Even though we want more, we don't need more and it's time to stop.
We can stop watching the show and leave the TV, just like the drunk guy who attempts to leave on his own and is proud of himself when he does.
