After I found out the real lyric from the liner notes of "Parallel Lines" that I bought the album in '78, I felt a sense of relief, since I had wondered what the heck she meant by "longing for the Jewish life"! I was in college at the time, and, when I was with a bunch of people in someone's dorm room, the song came on, and we all started singing along, but, I, purposely, misspoke the lyric, and everyone cracked up!
