The REAL lyric : " I like treacle banana" The mishering of this song, combined with the already established joke rumor caused Mssrs Country joe McDonald, Chicken Hirsch, Barry melton and the others to tour about the S.F.Bay area in a special banana mobile to encourage the smoking of bananas" But Donovan told us all to our faces that he actually wrote "I like treacle banana".(Brit for overripe ).
