Rage Against The Machine, "Killing in the Name"
Misheard Lyrics:
Some of those that brought forces
Were the same that brought crosses.
Original Lyrics:
Some of those that work forces
Are the same that burn crosses.
The band's name is Rage Against The Machine... but maybe I'm misunderstanding the whole 'f*** the man' vibe. It makes more sense to me that those who would be "KILLING IN THE NAME OF" would be doing so for some sort of dogmatic reason. I heard it wrong the first time, and can't un-hear it now. I feel like I'm taking crazy pills after reading on multiple sites the lyrics are what they are. I mean history is full of examples of leaders and nations "justifying" their war crimes for the sake of religion. With the tones of their other songs I don't see how it could be interpreted any other way, but hey - I'm the obvious some deaf guy.
