Rihanna, "Don't Stop the Music"
Misheard Lyrics:
We were saved by the sound of Microsoft.
Original Lyrics:
Ma ma se, ma ma sa, ma ma coo sa
On account of this mishearing, I originally thought that the song must have been commissioned by Microsoft in a lame attempt to seem more "hip" and "down with the kids". I interpreted "the sound of Microsoft" to have a double meaning. It could refer to "the Microsoft sound" (as in the famous start-up sound). It could also refer to the (mistaken) fact that Microsoft was releasing a song. I eventually realised this whole theory was unlikely to be the case, but it was ages before I could find someone who actually knew what the real lyrics were because they make even less sense (and therefore seemed less plausible) than my misheard version! (Also, this line was borrowed from the Michael Jackson song "Wanna Be Startin' Somethin'.")
