U2, "Pride (In The Name Of Love)"
Misheard Lyrics:
Every morning, April fool.
Sufferings out in the Memphis sky.
Free at last.
Hey, I told you a lie.
Hey! Couldn't I take your pride?
Original Lyrics:
Early morning, April 4:
A shot rings out in the Memphis sky.
Free at last!
They took your life;
they could not take your pride!
I was amazed at Bono's genius when I finally LISTENED to the song. (The lyric is a respectful reference to the legacy of the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. I didn't know this until recent years.)
