"Blinded By The Light," Manfred Mann's Earth Band
Misheard Lyrics:
Blinded by the light
wrapped up like a douche
Another ruin her in the night
Original Lyrics:
Blinded by the light
revved up like a deuce
Another runner in the night
Story about this misheard lyric by: Peter: Manfred Mann Earth Band's version of "Blinded By The Light" was released, in the U.S., as both the album version (just over 7 minutes) and single version (at 3:45) in the fall of 1976 when I was 12 about to turn 13 that November, so yes just as I was about to become a teenaged boy. Yes, of course, at that age most boys think of sex and definite mishearing of lyrics is common, especially with this song, and this is what I thought I misheard at that age from the rather slurred chorus by then lead singer Chris Thompson. Also a lot of other boys both my age and slightly older, at 14 or 15, at my junior high also misheard the lyrics, of this tune, at least in similar ways and a few tried to tease me or say the lyrics meant other then what the chorus is in reality. This misheard version of the chorus actually makes a bit of sense to a teenage boy full of sex in the brain if you do know that 'Ruin her' is a long time urban slang regarding the condition a boy would leave a girl after either rough sex or if the boy is well-endowed in his crotch (yes, say above an 8" penis).

Backwards Messages -> Latest Entries

"Sorry 2006," Rupert Holmes
When reversed, one part of the song sounds similar to "Yes, an alien must know," which is followed by "Ah, I'm sure you'd believe that;" almost a subliminal jab at conspiracy theorists who believed in backwards masking.
