Misheard Lyrics:
I learned the truth at seventeen
That love was meant for you and me
Original Lyrics:
I learned the truth at seventeen
That love was meant for beauty queens
Story about this misheard lyric by: Andrew: All my life, I only knew a single line from this song, which I now have learned was completely misheard. I’d always thought the song was about finding one’s soulmate at a young age and being in love. Come to find out this is a sad song about not finding love because the singer doesn’t fit in with society’s standards of beauty.
"Run with Us," Lisa Lougheed
Misheard Lyrics:
With Darson Hall leaving Shadows in the night
Original Lyrics:
When Darkness falls, leaving Shadows in the night
Story about this misheard lyric by: Raccoonman: Darson Hall was a writer on the Raccoons, which Lisa Lougheed sang the majority of the majority of the soundtrack and voiced Lisa Raccoon.
"Family Guy Theme," Theme Song
Misheard Lyrics:
Lucky there's a man who, positively can do, all the things that make us eff'in cry!
Original Lyrics:
Lucky there's a man who
Positively can do
All the things that make us
Laugh and cry!
Story about this misheard lyric by: Sean: A previous entry in this list cites both versions as being correct, as "eff'in cry" was used in the first two seasons. The person who made this entry is wrong. They did not re-record the theme song, however, the people who type subtitles often don't receive a copy of the text, and have to type what they heard. The original subtitler had, they themselves, misheard the lyric, and Fox aired this mistake for the early years.
