"Call Me Maybe," Carly Rae Jepsen
Misheard Lyrics:
Hey I just met you, Melissa's crazy
Original Lyrics:
Hey I just met you, and this is crazy
Story about this misheard lyric by: John Smith: No matter how many times I listened, I could always hear a clearly pronounced M, and I wondered "who's this Melissa?", I asked my friend and my cousin if they heard "Melissa's crazy" too, and they both did.
"When I Get You Alone," Robin Thicke
Misheard Lyrics:
You can keep your toys in the jar tonight, alright
Original Lyrics:
You can keep your toys in the drawer tonight, alright
Story about this misheard lyric by: leechu: I was 15, but believe it or not, I had no idea what toys he meant. Maybe small gadgets like MP3 players? But why would she keep them in a jar? Was that a metaphor? (Nope, it wasn't.) Anyway, haha, I still understood that the reason why she didn't need her toys was because *he* would play with her.
"Heaven," Warrant
Misheard Lyrics:
I got now where left to go?
But no one really care.
I don't need what you do.
But I never giving up on your... heaven is too far away.
Original Lyrics:
I've got nowhere left to go.
No one really cares.
I don't know what to do.
But I'm never giving up on you.
Heaven isn't too far away.
Story about this misheard lyric by: Wisnu Aji: First, how late singer Jani Lane reaching the English second-person pronoun? It sounding like that Jani Lane mistakenly singing "your" instead of "you". Second, how that band will find their way? The road to their home is too far away. About this song: Featured on their debut studio album, "Dirty Rotten Filthy Stinking Rich", released on 31 January 1989, it was the album's second single and later their first greatest hit on both the UK Singles Chart and Billboard's Pop Chart (reaching #93 on the UK Singles Chart and later faring better on Billboard's Pop Chart with reaching #2 but failed to reaching number-one on that chart). But this awards of "Heaven" became that band's greatest song to date.
