Story about this misheard lyric by: Wisnu Aji: A sad song was recorded by a jazz rock band. During the pop metal movement, the band adopted this song with the taste of AOR, arena rock, and also pop metal that are not done performed by other jazz rock acts. The movement was done by lead vocals on this song, Bill Champlin. During the Peter Cetera era, the band adopted their other greatest hits from rock and jazz and previously their debut record was influenced by rock, hard rock, proto-metal, and jazz. The Diane Warren and Albert Hammond-penned song was peaking at #3 on Billboard's Pop Chart.

Story about this misheard lyric by: Jonathan S.: When I first heard this, I figured the singer was referring to a type of hygiene product, or a form of contraception (such as a diaphragm). It wasn't until a great while later that I found out the correct lyric--and then had to hop on Wikipedia to find out that the object in question is a type of military fortification. (The song's narrative is set during the Spanish-American War.)
